Equerry Horse Feeds
Equerry is a range of high-quality horse feeds manufactured by HJ Lea Oakes. The firm's history dates back to 1965 when the Lea family started milling feeds at Swettenham Mill, supplying them to the farming community throughout Cheshire. Hundreds of years later, HJ Lea Oakes remains independent and family run and is an important part of Britain's rich agricultural heritage. The company has expanded over the years and is now firmly established as one of the nation's longest running independent animal feed manufacturers.
Still based in South Cheshire, the firm now operates mills at Aston (a specialist ruminant feed mill which uses some of the most advanced milling systems in the UK), Congleton, Wheelock and Malpas, along with a blending operation at Prees in Shropshire. Feeds are developed for professional farmers and smallholders as well as horse and pet owners.
Achieving the Highest Nutritional Standards
Equerry feeds have been formulated by highly experienced equine nutritionists. Therefore, you can rest assured that these feeds will provide your horse with all the nutrients they need in one bag. Highly digestible fibre sources are used in order to promote a healthy digestive system and all feeds are carefully balanced with minerals and vitamins to support all-round health and wellbeing. Feeds include good quality protein sources for muscle development where appropriate.
Equerry Horse Feeds are manufactured under the BETA NOPS scheme, which has been designed to reduce the risk of naturally occurring prohibited substances (NOPS) in equine feeds. Equerry feeds carry a logo to reassure owners and trainers that the most stringent quality management procedures have been undertaken during the production process.
