Cavallo Big Foot Boot Pastern Wrap
Cavallo Big Foot Boot Pastern Wrap
For those who desire more protection for their Big Foot Boots, Cavallo BFB Pastern Wraps (sold in sets of two) provide an extra layer of defense for your horse's delicate skin while you ride. Remember that a break-in period is necessary to soften the leather of the bulbs and around the collar of your horse's new boots, similar to breaking in your own riding boots. It is recommended that the boots should be worn for 20-30 minutes during turn-out or riding on the first day, and then gradually increasing the time each following day. As horses' hoofs, skin thickness, bulb sensitivity and conditioning can vary, please keep an eye on the wear and tear and suitably increase the time spent in the boots. You can hasten the break-in process by applying a leather softener of your choice and/or riding through water. Wrap the Cavallo wrap around the hoof, keeping it low to the ground around the bottom of the bulb and then draw the elastic diagonally upward from back to front. Place the boot on the hoof, toe first, making sure that the wrap lies flat. Secure the red tab from the pastern wrap to the red Velcro on the tongue of the boot. Finish the boot fastening procedure as normal.
