What weight of rug does my horse need?
As a rough guide, a 0g rain sheet suits mild, wet weather; 50g to 150g lightweights suit cool days around 10 to 15°C; 200g to 250g mediumweights suit roughly 5 to 10°C; and 300g or more is for colder conditions, typically below 5°C, especially for clipped horses. Native types and good doers often need less, while clipped, older or finer-coated horses may need more. Check warmth by sliding your hand under the rug behind the withers: it should feel warm and dry, not hot or sweaty.

How do I measure my horse for a rug?
Measure from the centre of the chest, along the side of the body, to the point of the buttock. UK rug sizes are given in feet and inches (for example 6'3"), and fit can vary between brands and styles, so check the size guide on each product page.

What is the difference between a turnout rug and a stable rug?
Turnout rugs have a waterproof, breathable outer shell designed for horses in the field. Stable rugs are not waterproof and are made for use indoors, where they keep your horse warm and clean.
