Agrobs Pre Alpin® Senior is a dust-free, cereal-free hay replacer specially made for older horses and those that can no longer chew their forage properly. Made from over 60 meadow grasses and herbs, its fibres are cut to 3–20mm — about the length forage is ground down to by a healthy set of teeth — so it fully covers a horse’s crude fibre needs even when chewing is difficult. Cold-pressed linseed oil adds omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids for coat and skin condition. Dust-free and mould-free, it is also suitable for horses with respiratory sensitivity. It can fully replace hay or be used to supplement an existing forage ration, and is handy for mixing in medication. Available in a 12.5kg bag with free P&P.

How to Feed

• As a full hay replacer: about 1.5kg per 100kg of ideal bodyweight per day (around 7.5kg for a 500kg horse)
• To extend hay: 1kg of Pre Alpin Senior replaces 1kg of hay
• As a concentrate: 1.2kg replaces about 1kg of cereals

Introduce gradually. Agrobs recommend moistening or soaking for senior horses, horses with dental problems, fast eaters and horses that don’t drink enough.
